Singer Kelis is asking a court to help her get money from her estranged husband, rapper Nas, as she prepares to give birth to his child. According to TMZ.com, Kelis filed papers requesting spousal support, child support and other expenses related to the unborn child. The R&B singer accused Nas of failing to make any payments related to her pregnancy since she filed for divorce earlier this year. Kelis wrote in the papers, quote, “I have run out of money,” and noted her “survival” is based on the rapper paying her bills. Kelis’ attorney, Laura Wasser, also informed the court that she asked Nas to shell out some money for Kelis’ pregnancy expenses, but he never responded. The estranged couple’s child is due sometime this month. Nas and Kelis first started dating in 2003, and ended up tying the knot two years later. Kelis filed for divorce from Nas back in April, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The estranged couple’s story will be the focus of the premiere issue of “Vibe” magazine’s new tabloid “The Most!” You can find the publication on newsstands today
